Kindsight Solution Architecture

The Kindsight products use a mirrored copy of the fixed or mobile broadband Internet traffic provided by a netwrok tap in real-time. The mirrored traffic is then analyzed for purposes of network security and, with subscriber consent, for purposes of intent analytics. The use of mirroring means that the subscriber’s original traffic is transmitted to the Internet unimpeded, ensuring that the Kindsight solution has no impact on a service provider’s Internet service availability, quality of service, latency, or throughput.

The Kindsight plaforms are easy to install in the service provider network, non-disruptive, and with very modest demands on the service provider’s technical and operations resources.

Kindsight products deployed as an end-to-end solution or independently to offer security analytics, security services and intent analytics.

The key components of the solution are:

• Network Intrusion Detection System: Performance optimized for the residential intrusion detection application
• Data Filter: Filter web event information for no-cost, opted-in users, which facilitates service offering in a privacy centric manner
• Alert Reporting Cluster: Data center servers summarize security alerts and provide the notification service to subscriber
• Segmentation Scoring Cluster: Data center analyzes and scores data to create characters for users who have opted-in to the no-cost option
• Ad Serving Infrastructure Contains ad server, ad selection and ad handling functions
